This role involves the synthesis and development of candidate materials for USP Reference Standards and pharmaceutical impurities. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in synthetic organic chemistry, process R&D, and a passion for quality and safety.
🔍 Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop synthetic routes for pharmaceutical impurities and APIs.
- Conduct extensive literature searches using scientific databases.
- Execute synthesis from milligram to kilogram scale.
- Purify compounds via crystallization, chromatography, and advanced techniques.
- Analyze compounds using IR, NMR, Mass, Elemental Analysis, etc.
- Document all procedures per QMS and lab protocols.
- Prepare SOPs, protocols, project proposals, and technical reports.
- Ensure chemical/equipment availability and handle instrument calibration.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet timelines.
✅ Qualifications & Experience
- Education: M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry from a reputed university.
- Experience: 1–6 years in API process R&D/CDMO/CRO industry.
- Strong expertise in synthetic organic chemistry and analytical interpretation.
- Familiarity with QMS, GMP/GLP practices, and lab safety.
- Hands-on experience in scaling up synthesis and handling sensitive reagents.
