Job Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

• Leading end-to-end execution of hydro power projects in Bhutan.
• Managing civil construction activities while ensuring quality, safety, and environmental compliance.
• Planning and controlling project budgets, cost optimization, and financial discipline.
• Identifying project risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
• Providing technical leadership to project teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Managing contracts, negotiations, execution, and compliance.
• Monitoring project progress and ensuring timely delivery.
• Coordinating with government authorities, regulatory agencies, and local stakeholders.
• Establishing and managing project offices and operational infrastructure.
• Overseeing logistics, staffing, procurement, and project administration.
• Building relationships with Bhutanese ministries and regulatory bodies for approvals and compliance.
• Driving sustainability initiatives and promoting local employment opportunities.
• Supporting regional energy integration and power trading initiatives.

Required Experience

Applicants should have:

• Minimum 25+ years of experience in civil execution and construction of large hydro power projects.
• Strong expertise in project budgeting, operations, and risk management.
• Proven experience in contract management and technical supervision.
• Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills

• Deep understanding of the complete hydropower project lifecycle.
• Expertise in civil engineering and construction methodologies.
• Knowledge of Primavera, MS Project, AutoCAD, ERP systems, and engineering software.
• Strong strategic planning and decision-making abilities.

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Master’s Degree in Project Management or MBA is preferred.
